I Feel Sad For Kwesi Nyantakyi, Says Ghana Coach CK Akonnor

Black Stars coach, Charles Kwabla Akonnor has described how former Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantkyi exited office as unfortunate.

Nyantakyi has lost all his position in football following the airing of the ‘Number 12’ documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas in 2018.

Mr Nyantakyi was found guilty of “conflicts of interest”, “bribery and corruption” and “commission” after being caught on camera accepting alleged bribes by the FIFA Ethics Committee which subsequently led to his lifetime ban.

This led to the decline of Nyantakyi as his position as the Vice president of CAF and Executive Council member of FIFA were stripped off.

Speaking to Starr FM in an interview, Akonnor said, “I mean I experienced Nyantakyi, Kurt Okraku is now coming up so we can speak much about him but we hope things will go well for him.

“I also experience Ben Coffie, Nana Battler and others But Nyantakyi, it was unfair because for a man to have work like this, he might have had his own mistakes and all that but the way we brought him down, I think it was a bit worrying,” he said.

The state dragged Nyantakyi to court after he was caught on video making some statements about the president and also planning to fleece Ghanaian clubs in a sponsorship deal.
