The date for the beginning of the 2020/21 Premier League season has been fixed.
September 12 has been announced by the Premier League as the start date for the coming season.
But one thing that is still not really clear is the time for the return of fans to stadiums.
The outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the United Kingdom (UK) this year has come alongside with a number of restrictions – among them – the social distancing protocol which has barred fans from going to stadiums to watch their teams play.
All the remaining matches of the 2019/20 premier league season were played behind closed doors.
And the new season, according to local media reports in England, will start off behind closed doors.
According to Sky Sports, some spectators could return to sports venues later this year on a socially-distanced basis.
On July 24 this year during a Premier League meeting, the various clubs discussed the way forward for bringing fans back to the stadiums.
And reports say the stadiums will initially admit between 30 to 50 percent spectators, under a number of strict health and safety protocols.
