Bidvest Wits and Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo is ready to rally his troops again. This time they come up against Orlando Pirates, a side he looks forward to facing.
They don’t come tougher than this for the clever boys, who have a tough run of fixtures in the form of the ‘Big Three’.
Having lost to Mamelodi Sundowns and drawn against Kaizer Chiefs within a matter of days, Wits’ next challenge comes in the form of Orlando Pirates, who they face at the Ellis Park stadium on Saturday.
Confirmed: New AC Milan Deal For Mzansi Star
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Wits captain Hlatshwayo is upbeat at the prospect of facing Pirates and reveals that it will be no different from his side’s previous encounters.
“We know what kind of a team Pirates is. A speedy team, their front three, front four. They are quick and they use their pace most of the time and it’s similar to the games that we’ve played against Sundowns and against Chiefs. With their front three as much as they never really gave us problems last night, but with the combination play of Sundowns, we had to do a lot of shifting, a lot of movement.
“They move a lot, they don’t really have an out and out striker, so they play between the pockets, and I believe that Pirates is going to do that with Mulenga, because I watched the game against Sundowns, Mulenga would drop and they will play the balls on the sides and everything and they will try to use their pace,” he said.
Illegal Football Activity In The Country Continues
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old is wary of the threat posed by Pirates’ lethal hitman and his former teammate Gabadinho Mhango, but insists he is not the only Bucs player who can hurt them.
“We’ve played against Gaba. We know what kind of a player is. He’s rational. He just goes, he just plays, he just runs, just shoots from anywhere and he has done well for himself in the league, and he’s our top scorer for the league and obviously he’s want to add to his tally. We can’t say we know his strengths and his weaknesses, but we have to be alert at all times because as much as you look out for Gaba, there’s also Pule. There’s also Makaringe. They have they have quite a quality going forward with their pace and everything,” Tyson concluded.
